Lefkara is very famous for the manufacture of lace, known as ‘Lefkaritika’ and for handmade silver items. Even Leonardo da Vinci visited Lefkara in 1481 and made a purchase of some ‘Lefkaritika’. The elevation of the village is 500m. Lofou village is located in the Limassol District and has been inhabited since the Bronze Age. The name Lofou comes from the Greek word λόφος, meaning hill. It is a traditionally picturesque village and is at an altitude of 780m. The chance to look back into Cypriot history is a very enjoyable and memorable one.
